Generations Mortgage Get Pre-Approved

Lebanon, Tennessee

Two people, one file, no call centre.

Most mortgage companies hand you off — a lead form, then a call centre, then a processor you never speak to. That is not how this works. You get Tyler, you get Hillary, and you keep both of our mobile numbers.

Why we called it Generations

At Generations Mortgage, we believe a mortgage is about more than financing a home. It is about helping people create stability, build opportunity, and make financial decisions that can positively impact future generations.

Backed by more than 20 years of lending experience, our team brings deep industry knowledge together with a personal, relationship-driven approach. We are committed to making the mortgage process clear, responsive, and tailored to each client's goals.

Whether you are purchasing your first home, refinancing, investing, building, or exploring ways to use the equity you have built over time, we take the time to explain your options and help you move forward with confidence.

Our name reflects our mission: helping individuals and families make smart lending decisions today while building a stronger financial future for the generations that follow.

Tyler McCain

Tyler McCain

Sr. Mortgage Loan Advisor · NMLS #173261

Tyler has been originating mortgages since 1996. That is long enough to have worked through the refi booms, the 2008 collapse and the rebuild after it, the pandemic rate floor, and the correction that followed. Rate cycles come and go. What does not change is that most people only do this a handful of times in their life, and they deserve to understand what they are signing.

He is a broker rather than a bank employee, which means he is not selling one company's product line. If the best answer for you is a loan he cannot write, you will hear that too.

He has been on your side of the table

  • Self-employed income — he has had to document his own, and knows why the tax return the IRS likes is not the one an underwriter wants.
  • Rebuilt his own credit — not theory. He knows which moves shift a score in sixty days and which are a waste of time.
  • Bought in this market — not a friendlier one, at rates people now call high.

Reverse mortgages

Tyler has spent a large part of his career on reverse mortgages, which is unusual — most originators avoid them because they are slow and heavily regulated. They are also the right answer for a specific kind of borrower, and badly explained almost everywhere. If you are over 62 and equity-rich but cash-tight, it is worth an honest conversation about the reverse mortgage options available in Tennessee before you assume anything.

Mortgage Loan Advisor · NMLS #2812285

Hillary is Tyler's daughter, and the reason the company is called what it is. She is licensed in Kentucky and works alongside him on out-of-state and co-brokered files.

In practice that means two things for you. There is always a second set of eyes on your file — conditions get caught before an underwriter finds them, not after. And when Tyler is sitting at a closing table, someone who actually knows your file picks up the phone.

She came into this the way the good ones do: watching it done properly for years before getting licensed herself.

How we actually work

  1. A conversation, not a form dump

Fifteen minutes on the phone tells us more than a forty-field application. What you want to buy, what you earn and how, what is on your credit, and what you are actually comfortable paying every month — which is often a different number than what you qualify for.

  2. We shop it, then show you the math

As brokers we price your file with multiple lenders. You see the options side by side: rate, fees, mortgage insurance, cash to close, and what each one costs you over the years you will actually keep the loan. Not just the rate.

  3. A pre-approval a listing agent believes

We underwrite up front rather than issuing a soft letter. In a market where sellers take multiple offers, that is the difference between an accepted contract and a polite pass.

  4. You keep our mobile numbers

Through underwriting, appraisal, conditions and closing. Text us. That is what the numbers are for.

Start with a conversation.

Two minutes, no credit pull, no documents. Then we will call you and talk through what it actually means.
